Payment Options
Private Pay
In Focus Psychotherapy LLC accepts private pay. Accepted payment methods include cash, check, credit or debit card, and Health Savings Accounts. The payment method will be established when scheduling your first appointment. Payment can be made in advance or at the time of service.
Some benefits of private pay:
You may not have to wait as long for an appointment - flexible schedule with frequent openings
You may save money if you have a high deductible and/or limited (or no) insurance benefits for mental health or testing
You do not need to have a documented mental health diagnosis to receive therapy
Your therapy goals and the frequency and number of sessions can be determined collaboratively with your therapist, instead of set by your insurance carrier
Your records remain confidential (within limits of the law) between you and your therapist
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) has been shown to facilitate progress in a brief amount of time, which may mean fewer sessions overall
"Good Faith Estimate"
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers are required to provide clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for health care services. This is to reduce any unexpected medical bills.
In Focus Psychotherapy LLC's rates are listed above, and a written estimate can be requested that includes a description of services, session fees, and diagnostic codes.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services (e.g., psychotherapy and testing).
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one (1) business day before your scheduled health care service (e.g., psychotherapy or testing appointment). You can also ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or print your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-877-696-6775.
Insurance
In Focus Psychotherapy LLC does not accept insurance. A receipt will be provided for each payment you make, which you may choose to submit for potential insurance reimbursement. It is highly recommended you contact your insurance company to discuss out-of-network benefits and reimbursements before scheduling your first appointment.
Sample questions to ask your health insurance carrier:
Does my health insurance plan include out-of-network mental health benefits? Testing benefits?
Do I have a deductible and has it been met?
Is approval or a referral required from my primary care physician?
Is there a limit to how many sessions are covered each year?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Do I need a diagnosis and/or CPT Code on my receipt? Common CPT Codes may include:
Diagnostic Assessment CPT Code: 90791
Individual Psychotherapy CPT Codes: 90832, 90834, and 90837
Testing CPT Codes: 96130, 96131, 96136, 96137
Group Therapy CPT Code: 90853
Are telehealth sessions (CPT Code above with modifiers for telehealth) covered?
Can I use my Health Savings Account to pay for therapy sessions?
What is the process for reimbursement for out-of-network providers?
